Ann Louise Luthi
Ann Louise Luthi is a member of the Society of Jewellery Historians and a Senior Member of St Anne’s College, Oxford. She has worked in advertising, public relations, journalism and publishing. Married to a Swiss-American with two adult sons, she has lived in France, Switzerland and the United States. Now that she has retired, she is studying the history of the use of hair in mourning and sentimental jewellery and is herself an enthusiastic collector. She writes and lectures on the history of sentimental jewellery and since 2001 has been working on the jewellery collections in the Department of prehistory and Europe at the British Museum.
