John Bly
John Bly worked for four years at Sotheby’s before joining the family firm in Tring, one of the oldest established antique dealers in Britain. In the company’s one hundredth year, 1991, he opened showrooms in Bury Street, St James’s, London. John Bly has his own programme networked on ITV entitled Heirloom and is a regular contributor ro BCC Television’s Antiques Roadshow. He lectures extensively in Britain and North America and has contributed to Antique Dealer and Collector’s Guide, Antique Monthly and other specialist magazines. He has written Discovering English Furniture (Shire) and was editor of and contributor to Is it Genuine? and Chief Consultant to the Editor of the Antiques Directory of Furniture. John Bly is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths.
