Philip Walker
Philip Walker was brought up in a Wiltshire village in the 1920s and saw traditional manual trades practiced as a necessity in a rural economy still dependent on horse-drawn vehicles and implements. After a varied career he settled in Suffolk, lecturing, writing and working wood. In 1983 he founded the Tool and Trades History Society.
