Russell Ash
Russell Ash was a widely published author, having written and contributed to more than 50 non-fiction titles on such subjects as art (particularly the Impressionists and other late nineteenth-century painters, including Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema and Sir Edward Burke-Jones), animals real and fictitious (he is the author of The Pig Book and the official ‘biographer’ of Paddington Bear) and humour (The Cynic’s Dictionary, The Yuppie Handbook and, as a co-author, Bizarre Books). He has also compiled various popular reference titles, such as The Londoner’s Almanac and, since 1989, the annual The Top 10 of Everything and related titles, The Top 10 of Sport and The Top Ten of Music. Discovering Highwaymen was his first book.
